And We're Off...!

What a great start to the year! It has been so nice seeing new and old third grade friends in the computer lab.

In our first week we reviewed the expectations of the computer lab and the importance of password security. Next, they logged into Typing Jungle and familiarized themselves with the "home row." The "home row" is the middle row of letters where their index fingers rest on the "f" and "j" keys.

In Week 2, third graders were introduced to their Google Drive accounts. These valuable accounts, hosted by Rockland Public Schools provide students with a constant resource with which to type, edit, revise, publish, print, and store their written pieces.

In third and fourth grade we reviewed the features and capabilities of Google Drive. We reviewed the capitalization shortcut using the shift key while completing our first writing piece inspired by National Waffle Week, observed September 4-10.

Switching Gears

Thank you for stopping by my little piece of the blogosphere. Here, I am eager to share the learning, tasks, and projects of second, third, and fourth grade Bulldogs.

We will work on keyboarding, writing and formatting through Google Docs, coding with SCRATCH, and programming.

Come back and visit often to dive into the world of technology through Google Suite and the wonder of STEM.
